O International GeoGebra Institute – IGI é uma organização sem fins lucrativos que desenvolve seu trabalho juntamente com Institutos GeoGebra independentes oficializados em diferentes países. Atualmente os Institutos GeoGebra estão presentes em todos os continentes.
Os Institutos Internacionais de Geogebra (IGI) são organizações sem fins lucrativos e foram criados devido à ampla divulgação e uso do software livre GeoGebra. Em cada Instituto e em todos os continentes, professores e pesquisadores trabalham juntos para promover o ensino e a aprendizagem da Matemática apoiando e desenvolvendo as seguintes atividades:
Desenvolver materiais gratuitos para oficinas de GeoGebra;
Oferecer oficinas para professores e para futuros formadores sobre o GeoGebra;
Desenvolver e implementar novas funcionalidades do software GeoGebra;
Desenvolver um sistema de apoio on-line para professores;
Avaliar e melhorar as atividades de desenvolvimento profissional e materiais;
Projetar e implementar projetos de pesquisa com o GeoGebra e para os IGI;
Comunicações em conferências nacionais e internacionais.
Em linhas gerais os Institutos GeoGebra, por meio do software livre GeoGebra, compartilham experiências sobre capacitação para o uso do GeoGebra, oferecem suporte para o desenvolvimento de materiais por estudantes e professores para o aprimoramento da Educação Matemática, Ciência e Tecnologia, procuram promover a colaboração entre os profissionais e pesquisadores, buscando estabelecer parcerias e a formação de uma comunidade de usuários do GeoGebra.
O grupo de pesquisa Tecnologias e Meios de Expressão em Matemática (TecMEM) do Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Educação Matemática da PUC/SP e o Curso de Ciência da Computação têm sob sua responsabilidade o Instituto GeoGebra de São Paulo, com sede na Faculdade de Ciências Exatas e Tecnologia da PUC-SP.

Os responsáveis pelo Instituto GeoGebra de São Paulo são:
Celina A. A. P. Abar (Coordenadora)
Titular and researcher professor at Post-Graduate Program in
Mathematics Education, Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology at
Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP). Celina
coordinates the work at GeoGebra Institute of São Paulo, gives
workshops, develops materials and does research on GeoGebra and
Mathematics Education.
Barbara Lutaif Bianchini
Researcher professor at Post-Graduate Program in Mathematics
Education, Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology at Pontifical
Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP). She does research on
GeoGebra and Mathematics Education.
Lisbete Madsen Barbosa
Master in Mathematics Education and researcher professor and teacher
at Computer Department at Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology at
Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP). She gives
workshops, develops materials and does research on GeoGebra as part of
her doctoral studies.
Julio Arakaki
PHD in Mechatronic Engineering and reseacher and teacher at Computer
Department at Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology at Pontifical
Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUCS-SP). He is the Coordinator of
Information Systems course and gives workshops and does projects
research on Geogebra programming and Software Engineering.
Daniel Couto Gatti
Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Catholic
University of São Paulo (PUC / SP). Professor and researcher at the
Post-Graduate Program in Technology Intelligence and Digital Desing
(PUC / SP). Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the Catholic
University of São Paulo (2009). Researcher in the areas of software
modeling, software architecture and programming teaching. Supervisor
of undergraduate students in research project on the Software
Architecture GeoGebra.
Marcus Vinicius Maltempi
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor of science from UNESP (1991), master's degree in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from USP (1995), PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer from UNICAMP (2000) and made a part of the doctorate at the University of Toronto (Canada), and postdoctoral work at the University of London, England. He is currently Assistant Professor of UNESP Rio Claro. Has experience in the area of Informatics in education, with emphasis in mathematics education. Published articles in specialized journals and several books in the annals of events. Has published book chapters and several technical productions. Featured jobs in events in Brazil and abroad. Oriented dissertations and doctoral theses, as well as works of scientific initiation and completion of course in the areas of mathematics and computer Science Education. Currently directs Ph.d. students and masters.
