The relation between art and structure is the project’s basic concept.

Structuring happens at the moment of awareness of the building weight and "new" structure.

For a clear sensation, all attitudes that demand artistic composition must be prevented.

Everything is centered in the incision of the "I" beam in the space removed from the pillar. The sizes must follow the distances between the pillars, the beam dimensions, necessary weights, etc...

In resume, all the posterior plastic solutions to the choice between the two presented options must be subordinated to this first sensation and the structural technique.

In this work the weight idea is central. Although we bring to the space only some beams (about 500 kg), we will be working on a 200 - 300 tons sculpture.

It is the result of two previous projects, Lages, in Arte/Cidade (97) and Grande Budha (86). The first one because the relation with architecture and its attempt to reorganize it through the new tension and shift, and the second one because the sensation of the incision, only that now in structural, not natural, elements. It is the same work in a new situation and context, or better, field.
