About Us:

Center Simão Mathias for Studies in History of Science (CESIMA/PUC-SP) hosts the activities of professional researchers, undergraduate and graduate students on different fields and from many different institutions. Located at Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, Consolação Campus, it aims at promoting studies in the history of science.

Ever since its foundation in 1994, CESIMA/PUC-SP organizes seminars, lectures and workshops, in addition to hosting researchers from Brazil and abroad. With the support of agencies FAPESP and CNPq and PUC-SP, CESIMA/PUC-SP developed a Multimedia Documentation Center with appropriate equipment for reading and digitizing primary sources, which are later stored in digital format for remote online consultation.

CESIMA/PUC-SP activities are organized around three axes: digital library; national and international exchange network; and publications.
